Good Morning

I went away for a few days to Cornwall to see my family.

It’s silly but it’s taken me as many days to feel back at ease in London.

I saw a quote saying home is where you stop trying to escape.

Hello to those of you that have signed up to my blog. Hopefully there will be something in it for you.

I hope you’ve had a good summer and for those of you that have had some time away that it was the right type of escape.

Thanks again for following along.

I went for a walk in the park, a few years ago now, I was in a melancholic mood and passed a woman sobbing on a bench.

Unlike myself, I asked her if she was ok, and she replied “No”; which is unsurprising really. I then asked her if she wanted me to sit with her, and she said that she’d appreciate that. We talked a little, and decided she ought to have a cup of tea. So we went to my flat and did just that, along with some hummus and rice cakes.

I walked her home and though we hadn’t exchanged names, we did exchange numbers, with it agreed that if we ever needed a stranger to talk to we could call or text each other.

Some months later, I don’t remember exactly how long, I did message her, and she sent a kind and attentive message back. And that was that.
